When we founded Kymari House, Inc. in 2012, our first goal was to create an organization that would have a positive impact on the lives of children. We wanted to create an agency built on putting children’s needs first, and one that was committed to excellence in children’s services and programming. As we thought through what we wanted to represent in the community, we came to the idea of honoring an actual child from our community—Kymari Clark.
In memory of Kymari Clark (Feb 11, 2009 – June 18, 2010)
The dream began with a simple goal — to create an organization that would make a positive impact on the lives of children and put their needs first.
As our founders explored how best to serve families, they were deeply moved by the story of one local child — Kymari Clark — whose life inspired the name and mission of Kymari House.
In 2012, Kymari House, Inc. was officially founded in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Every program and service was built around one guiding belief: that all children deserve safety, compassion, and excellence in care.
Kymari House continues to honor Kymari’s memory by serving children and families in our community, promoting the idea that every child is valuable, precious, and deserving of protection and support.
Kymari was only 16 months old when he died on June 18, 2010, from injuries sustained through child abuse. His mother was a young student who had trusted family to care for him while she attended school. Kymari’s life was tragically cut short, but his story inspired the creation of Kymari House—a place built to protect children and honor his memory.
Kymari House, Inc. is dedicated to the idea that adults have a responsibility to care for and protect the children in our families and communities. Our goal is to always put the safety and best interests of children ahead of all other priorities, incorporating best practices and multidisciplinary expertise into every service we provide.
Parents exercise their court-ordered parenting time at our facility under our supervision. This program keeps children safe while helping them maintain important bonds with their parents.
Our program provides a neutral environment of trust and safety where children can relax and spend time re-connecting with their noncustodial parents without the burden of family conflict.
Family support services provide parents with education and coaching to enhance the parent/child relationship and promote greater safety for all parties. Sliding scale assistance ensures that no family is ever turned away due to an inability to pay fees.
Since 2012, the mission of Kymari House is to build healthy families, informed communities, and resilient children.
